Burton District Scouts is pleased to announce that Chris Harlow and Sue Duffill have officially taken over the management of Rangemore Scout Centre, marking an exciting new chapter for the much-loved campsite and activity centre.
Together, Chris and Sue take on the responsibility of overseeing the continued operation, development and future growth of Rangemore, with a shared commitment to maintaining the high standards the centre has become known for while exploring new opportunities to enhance the visitor experience.
They pick up the baton from Jeanne Fairfield, who has recently retired from the management role after many years of dedicated service to Rangemore and Burton District Scouts. Jeanne has played a vital role in supporting the campsite, helping it grow as an important resource for Scouting and the wider community.
Burton District Scouts would like to express its sincere thanks to Jeanne for her years of commitment, hard work and unwavering support.
A particularly fitting milestone as Jeanne steps down is the recent completion of Rangemore’s long-awaited washroom refurbishment, something she had championed for many years. The upgraded facilities now offer modern, inclusive amenities with fully enclosed cubicles and greatly improved accessibility, representing a major step forward for the centre.
Chris Harlow said the focus moving forward would be on improving both the visitor experience and the operational efficiency of the site.
“Rangemore has always been a fantastic asset for Burton District Scouts, and Sue and I are excited to help build on the incredible work already done. We want to continue improving the site while making the booking process simpler and more convenient for everyone who visits.”
As part of this commitment to modernisation, Rangemore has now partnered with SiteBook, a cloud-based online booking platform designed specifically for campsites, venues and activity centres.
SiteBook provides a streamlined digital booking experience, allowing guests to check availability, make bookings, manage reservations and complete payments online. The platform also gives customers access to their own secure booking portal, where they can track booking progress, view reservation details and manage payments with ease. For campsite admin’s, SiteBook offers powerful tools including automated communications, availability calendars, booking management, warden & instructor management and simplified operational oversight.
Rangemore’s new booking portal can be accessed at Rangemore on SiteBook.
Looking ahead, Burton District Scouts plans to integrate the new booking system into a forthcoming District website, creating a seamless digital experience that will make discovering, booking and managing visits to Rangemore easier than we have ever had before.
