Welcome to Kilderkin Explorer Unit, where adventure continues for young people aged 14 to 18. As part of Burton District Scouts, Kilderkin offers an exciting and challenging programme designed to build confidence, develop leadership skills and create lifelong friendships through unforgettable experiences.

Explorer Scouts enjoy greater independence and the opportunity to take on bigger adventures than ever before. From camping, hiking and expeditions to climbing, kayaking, international trips and community projects, every activity is designed to help members challenge themselves while having fun.

Kilderkin Explorer Unit also provides young people with the opportunity to work towards some of Scouting's highest achievements, including the Chief Scout's Platinum Award, Chief Scout's Diamond Award, King's Scout Award and the Duke of Edinburgh's Award. Members are encouraged to take responsibility, develop leadership skills and make a positive impact within their community.

Many Explorers also become Young Leaders, volunteering with Squirrel, Beaver, Cub and Scout sections to inspire younger members while gaining valuable experience that benefits them in education, employment and everyday life.
