Groups
Adventure, challenge and fun for every age and ability.
Our activities encourage teamwork, resilience and unforgettable experiences in the outdoors.
Burton District Scouts is made up of a network of local Scout Groups and Explorer Units, all working together to provide young people with exciting opportunities, skills for life and unforgettable adventures.
Each local Scout Group forms the foundation of Scouting within the district, offering the four main sections that support young people as they grow and develop through their Scouting journey (Ages 4–14).
After Scouts, young people move into Explorer Scouts (Ages 14–18), which are organised at District level rather than within individual Scout Groups.
Explorer Units build on the skills gained in earlier sections, offering greater independence, leadership opportunities and bigger challenges such as expeditions, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, international travel and top Scout awards.
Our local Scout Groups feed into Burton District’s Explorer Units, ensuring a clear pathway for every young person to continue their Scouting journey and achieve their full potential.
